Dallas has said before, "The best day at my old job is still not as good as my worst day here!" Well, I think he put that statement to a true test yesterday. We had our Private Kayak Adventure (2 advanced kayakers, 2 beginners) head out yesterday in 30+ mph winds and temps in the 60's. Obviously this is not a norm for down here, we are getting a major cold front right now. They about froze last night after a long day of paddling. Today the sun was out a lot more and the wind is dropping off. It is still a little cool, but it's more up to the 70's again now during the day, thank goodness. We still could use a little warmer weather to help with this trip that is out. It's really frustrating when the weather hurts our trips, but that's one of the down falls of a camping business I suppose.
Just as a reminder, our trips are camping trips! :) They are out in nature, sleeping in tents, cooking your own food (if you go on a rental), paddling or sailing in the great outdoors (wind, rain or shine). We try our best to please all of our guests that come on rentals or guided trips, but I also realize that it's not totally possible to make each and every guest 100% happy all the time.
We are here for our guests and we try to provide folks with the best 'Out-Island' experience we feel we can give you. Please forgive us when the weather doesn't always cooperate. MOST of the time, it is wonderful down here, and very pleasant.
Stay tuned for answers to the "T-shirt Competition Questions".
